Rania Harrara

Rania Harrara is an environmentalist, Human Rights Defender, and climate and gender expert. As the Co-Founder of Swana Climate Sirens, she leads efforts to integrate gender perspectives into climate action. A testament to Rania's dedication to elevating women's voices in climate negotiations is her leadership within the UNFCCC Women and Gender Constituency MENA Task FORCE, particularly during COP28 and within the demilitarization task force. She led the creation of an environmental education curriculum that complied with national education standards and was acknowledged as a UNICEF Morocco Climate Champion and by Aspen Institute as a Future Climate leader. As seen by her work with the Regional Climate Change Advocacy Strategy framework, Rania possesses expertise in strategic advocacy, youth-led solutions, and policy proposals. She also works with UN Women as a National Gender Justice Activist, contributing to projects that promote gender equality both nationally and in the MENA region. Her commitment to building an encouraging network for Arab women to fight for social justice and women's rights is demonstrated by her organization, the Young Arab Feminists Coalition.
