Batoul Hamzy, Policy and Research Committee Co-Lead

I am a passionate advocate for climate justice and sustainable development from Lebanon. With a Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering focused on Biomedical Engineering, I have combined my technical expertise with a deep commitment to environmental and social causes. My involvement with organizations like UNICEF Lebanon and ActionAid Arab Region has given me extensive experience in climate advocacy, community engagement, and policy reform. I have participated in international forums and workshops, representing Lebanon abroad where I advocated for sustainable development and climate justice.

My work includes organizing climate events, leading social research, and implementing renewable energy projects, all aimed at fostering a more equitable and sustainable future. Joining Climate Sirens is a natural extension of my dedication to amplifying marginalized voices and promoting decolonial perspectives in the climate movement. I am inspired by Climate Sirens’ focus on elevating indigenous knowledge and practices, which are crucial for addressing the climate crisis effectively. By contributing to this youth-led movement, I aim to drive positive change and advocate for policies that ensure a just and sustainable future for all communities in the SWANA region.
