Our Mission

Co-lead a feminist, decolonial youth-led movement that challenges the climate crisis by amplifying indigenous perspectives. Our movement is built on the principles of intersectionality, decolonization, peace and empowerment, recognizing the unique challenges faced by women in the fight against the climate crisis. By centering the voices, wisdom, and leadership of women from the SWANA region, we strive to address climate change with equitable, sustainable solutions rooted in traditional ecological knowledge.

Our Vision

We envision a world where women from the SWANA region are at the forefront of climate action, leading with wisdom, resilience, peace and innovation. By amplifying their voices, indigenous knowledge, and fostering leadership, we strive to create a more just, equitable, and sustainable future for all.

Goal One

Elevate young SWANA women as leaders and decision-makers in climate action, ensuring their voices are heard.

Goal Two

Integrate indigenous knowledge and decolonial frameworks into global climate strategies, promoting solutions that honor cultural and environmental sovereignty.

Goal Three

Build climate-resilient communities through grassroots action and youth-driven innovation, fostering a sustainable and equitable future.

Our Values

  • Decolonial Leadership: Commitment to decolonizing climate justice, ensuring leadership reflects the diversity and wisdom of SWANA's indigenous and young women’s voices, fostering peace through equity.

  • Indigenous Wisdom: Valuing and integrating traditional ecological knowledge and sustainable practices from indigenous communities as central to our climate strategies.

  • Gender Equity: Recognizing the disproportionate impact of climate change on women, particularly in historically marginalized communities, and advocating for their leadership and participation in climate action.

  • Empowerment through Education: Offering education, training, and mentorship to empower the next generation of young women climate leaders from the SWANA region.

  • Structural Change: Advocating for dismantling systemic barriers to ensure an inclusive, equitable climate justice movement.

  • Solidarity and Collaboration: Fostering a supportive ecosystem of allies and partners to amplify our movement's impact and promote a collaborative, peace approach to climate justice.

  • Sustainable Practices: Encouraging the adoption of sustainable, decolonial environmental stewardship to protect our planet for future generations, ensuring peace and stability for all.
