Yasmina Benslimane, Co-Founder

Yasmina Benslimane is a feminist activist, advocating for the intersectionality of climate, gender, and displacement. With an academic background in International Law, Refugee Protection and Forced Migration with a focus on disasters and climate-induced displacement, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her work. As the founder of Politics4Her, she launched initiatives like Rising HERizons, empowering young women in SWANA at the nexus of climate justice and political empowerment. Additionally, Yasmina co-founded SWANA Climate Sirens, championing indigenous and decolonial youth-led feminism in the climate space. Yasmina was also recognized as a Young Climate Leader of Color by the People's Climate Innovation Center with a grant to research settler colonialism and its profound impacts on the climate crisis in Puerto Rico. With a decade of experience she has collaborated with diverse stakeholders, including youth organizations, civil society, and UN agencies. Her work gained international recognition as she has been recognized by Forbes 30U30, BBC 100, MIPAD, MADRE, and as a UN Women Peacebuilder in the Arab States.
